Live! in Historic Overland Park Friday March 2, 2012 8:00 PM	Great Day Cafe 7921 Santa Fe Drive Overland Park, KS 66204 (913) 642-9090	David Hakan has recently added yet another show to his roster of presentations of the Kansas City Songwriters' Circle. This is a First Friday event in downtown Overland Park. Each month he brings in local players for sets. I am fortunate to have the stage in March. This will be my first time there and I am certainly looking forward to it. Kenny Hines will also be doing a set that evening, so it should be fun.
Live! on Wornall Tuesday March 6, 2012 7:00 to 9:00 PM	Swagger Fine Spirits & Food 8431 Wornall Road Kansas City, MO 64114 (816) 361-4388	I have been doing this show at Swagger for about a yeat now and I am still amazed at how many people know about this place but never seem to get out to try it. This is a great place for food and drink, with some of the most informed and friendly bartenders anywhere. And there is live music the first Tuesday of every month. I know, because I make the music. In March I will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day, a bit early. My guest, Bill Morris, will also be bring some Celtic music. This show is produced by Martha Gershun.
Live! among the Poets Friday May 22, 2009 6:30 PM	The Writers Place 3607 Pennsylvania Kansas City, MO 64111 816) 753-1090	Every May The Writers Place hosts a poetry reading as a benefit in support of the Crystal Field Scholarship in Poetry Writing at UMKC. Some of the area's best poets - there are many and they are very good - contribute new work based on the topic for year. This year the topic will be "Journey". I am honored to be playing for the 4th consecutive year at this event and, yes, I will be writing a song for the occasion.
